Capital Football name squad for women’s National League

Capital Football have named their squad for the upcoming Women’s National League season.

Head coach Maika Ruyter-Hooley (pictured) has named the following players in her squad:

Lauren Owen (Waterside Karori)

Six more players will train with the squad prior to a final selection being made ahead. They are:

Staff

Head coach is Maika Ruyter-Hooley, well-known as head coach for W-League side Wellington United who won the 2021 Kate Sheppard Cup. She is AFC B Licence qualified and has assisted in coaching the Petone men’s Central League squad in 2022.

A former player with Melbourne Victory, she has been the assistant coach with Capital Football’s Women’s National League squad the last two seasons. She won Capital Football’s Coach of the Year award for 2021.

This year’s competition features eight teams: Northern Rovers, Auckland United, Western Springs, Eastern Suburbs, Capital Football, Central Football, Canterbury United Pride and Southern United.
