Bowman double gets 10-man Te Atatu home against South Auckland Rangers

Mathew Bowman’s late winner got 10-man Te Atatu a 3-2 win against South Auckland Rangers in Saturday’s NRF Men’s Championship’s only fixture.

The mid-table sides met at Rangers’ Rongomai Park, and the home side went ahead through Tui Amosa in the 29th minute.

That was enough to send the sides into half-time with Rangers ahead.

The second-half action came fast with three goals in a four-minute spell.

Devon Greentree levelled for Te Atatu in the 64th minute.

Two minutes later, the visitors went ahead through Bowman.

But Richcal Ram found an equaliser almost immediately, setting up a thrilling run-in to the game.

Rangers appeared to take the advantage in the 82nd minute when Te Atatu were reduced to 10 players, after Peter Norris was sent off for a second yellow card, both cautions being for dissent.

However, Bowman managed his second goal of the day with five minutes left to take the points.

Both sides have one fixture outstanding — it’s the reverse fixture between them, postponed earlier this season.
