Hibiscus Coast land women’s league and Carol Waller Cup double

posted in: News

Hibiscus Coast have pulled off a league/cup double after winning the newly-named Carol Waller Cup in a tight final against Metro.

The Coast women’s team, who had already won the NRF Women’s Championship, took the top regional knockout trophy as well with a 1-0 win at Papakura’s McLennan Park.

It means Coast have finished their season unbeaten in league and local cup competition, and their only loss was in the national Kate Sheppard Cup competition.

In the final against Metro, the winner came in the 27th minute from a Danica Urlich-Beech free kick.
