posted in: News

With a week to go before their men’s A-League season starts, the Wellington Phoenix have a “few niggly injuries” and are still trying to get pre-season game minutes to help some players build their fitness.

That’s the update from head coach Ufuk Talay this weekend as his team played their final warm-up friendly, a 3-0 loss to Sydney FC.

The Phoenix kick off their A-League season at Sky Stadium on Sunday October 9, playing Adelaide United (3pm).

In an airport interview, Talay said: “There’s still a bit of time. Things change very quickly in football.”
