NRF look to appoint leadership role to grow female participation in football

With the FIFA Women’s World Cup less than 10 months away, Northern Region Football are looking to recruit a leader who can help grow female participation in football.

NRF are advertising for a full-time Head of Girls’ and Women’s Football.

The largest of six football regional federations in the country, NRF covers the area from Counties Manukau, in the south, to the Far North. It serves 78 member clubs, provides football for 35,000 registered players as well as thousands of coaches, referees, administrators and volunteers.

The advertisement describes the role:

“This critical leadership team role will work with key stakeholders to increase the number of girls playing football. This will include:

  • supporting clubs to create equitable opportunities for girls and women within the club environment
  • growing the number of girls and women coaching and refereeing
  • expanding leadership pathways for girls and women
  • piloting different formats of football to attract kōhine/young women
