Kick-off times released for February’s women’s intercontinental play-off series

More details have been confirmed for the 13 women’s international games to be played in Auckland and Hamilton next February, as part of the FIFA Women’s World Cup intercontinental play-off series.

These include kick-off times, and confirmation that tickets for the play-off games will go on sale in early 2023.

The play-off tournament, hosted in Aotearoa New Zealand from February 17-23, 2023, will see 10 nations compete for the final three qualifying spots for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023.

The teams are Cameroon, Chile, Chinese Taipei, Haiti, Panama, Papua New Guinea, Paraguay, Portugal, Senegal and Thailand.

New Zealand’s Football Ferns will play three international friendlies around the qualifiers.

New Zealand’s first match will be against Portugal, at Hamilton’s FMG Stadium Waikato. with their next two against a yet-to-be-announced guest team.

Volunteers needed

Applications are open for volunteers who want to help make next February’s FIFA Women’s World Cup play-off tournament a success in Auckland and Hamilton.

The volunteers will help at the stadia, training sites, hotels, Auckland Airport and transport hubs.
