Springs and Rovers jostle for chance to make Women’s National League final

posted in: News

With Eastern Suburbs all but confirmed as a grand finalist, Auckland clubs Western Springs and Northern Rovers lead the chase to claim the other finals spot.

Both clubs play at home this weekend, against sides in the lower reaches of the eight-team competition.

Western Springs play under the lights at Seddon Fields on Friday night, against Auckland United who have struggled of late.

A win would give Springs an eight-point lead on Rovers, putting pressure on the North Shore side when they face Central Football on Saturday.

Fourth-placed Southern United remain as potential finalists but only if the Auckland clubs fallen into a slump in the four remaining rounds.

Leaders Eastern Suburbs host Canterbury United Pride on Sunday.
