Waterside Karori appoint new coach for next season’s Central League campaign

Wellington club Waterside Karori have appointed Sam Morrissey as their head coach for next season’s Central League campaign.

Morrissey (32) takes over from Sam Smith who departs for overseas after holding a variety of roles at the club since 2018.

Announcing the change, the club said: “We are extremely grateful for the significant contribution Sam has made during his time at the club. We would like to wish Sam all the best for his next chapter.”

Morrissey coached the club’s women’s first team for the last two seasons, winning both the W-League and the Kelly Cup during the 2022 season.

He was also an assistant coach for the men’s Central League team for the past two seasons.
