Ricki Herbert: Quality of games at World Cup has been ‘outstanding’

Former All Whites player and coach Ricki Herbert says the entertainment value of games at the FIFA World Cup has been outstanding.

In a 7-minute interview with NewstalkZB’s D’Arcy Waldegrave, Herbert named France and Brazil as teams that had impressed him during the tournament for the way they were approaching their games.

Herbert also said Croatia would be hard to beat, having ‘nerves of steel’ if needed in a penalty shootout.

While refereeing decisions still had some ‘grey areas’, Herbert said VAR and the officials were generally coming up with the right outcomes.
