Women’s Grand Final to be staged at Auckland’s Mt Smart Stadium

posted in: Events, News

Auckland’s Mt Smart Stadium will be the venue for this year’s Grand Final of the Women’s National League.

Eastern Suburbs will play Western Springs for the national title at 2pm on Sunday December 18.

The stadium will provide the biggest venue ever, in terms of capacity, for a women’s domestic final. It can hold up to 40,000 people.

It follows the successful hosting of the men’s Grand Final at Mt Smart on Sunday December 4.

Mt Smart was the home ground for the All Whites during their famous qualifying campaign to reach the 1982 FIFA World Cup finals.

“After a great first full National League Championship season, it is exciting to see the Grand Final at an iconic venue like Mt Smart Stadium.

“Eastern Suburbs and Western Springs have been the two stand-out clubs in the league, so I think we are in for a brilliant final.

“I encourage all football fans in Auckland to come down for a great end to the 2022 season.”
