Metro FC have announced John Ellis as the club’s new women’s first team head coach.
In an announcement, the club said: “Following a robust selection process, John was the outstanding candidate to lead the side into the 2023 NRF Women’s Conference season.”
Ellis has coached Tuakau and Glen Eden men’s first teams in New Zealand, and has coached girls’ and women’s football in the United Kingdom.
“After meeting a number of the 2022 side, John is excited to begin the challenge of working with the team to challenge for promotion in the season ahead,” the club said.
“Metro FC look forward to the exciting season ahead for our women’s first team as they look to continue the upwards momentum developed during 2022.”
Last season, Metro were runners-up in the Carol Waller Cup.
