Manukau United’s Prashant Kumar was among the goalscorers as host nation Fiji recorded a 3-0 win against Samoa in their opening game at the OFC U-17 Championship.
The Fijians scored their goals in the first hour and were then content to manage the game for the remaining 30 minutes, to become the first side at the tournament to keep a clean sheet.
There are no games at the tournament on Friday but New Zealand play their second fixture on Saturday when they meet American Samoa.
Saturday’s other game is between Tahiti and the Cook Islands, who will be playing their first game at the event.
