Players at Saturday’s annual Māori Football Aotearoa North v South series were surprised to find some high-profile spectators at Auckland’s Ngahue Reserve.

Members of the touring United States women’s national team called in to check out action.

Members of the Hibiscus Coast club made sure they captured a photo with two of the US players (see main photo).

The Coast players were Deja Pareta, Taine Bracken, Danica Urlich-Beech and Jemma McNulty. The US players were forward Lynn Williams (left) and defender Andi Mitchell (right).

Members of the North and South girls’ teams join the US players for a group photograph.
