Gameday 4: Samoa ease past Tonga with 6-0 win at OFC U-17 Championship

posted in: Events

Samoa have scored an emphatic 6-0 win against Tonga to complete their group fixtures at the OFC U-17 Championship in Fiji.

Barring a huge form reversal on Wednesday when Tonga face Fiji, it’s likely that Samoa and Fiji will progress to the quarter-finals, joining New Zealand and Tahiti who have already secured their spots in the knockout stages.

Pharrell Trainor scored four of Samoa’s goals against Tonga, while Ethelbert Edward contributed two in the first half.

Monday is a rest day but games on Tuesday will be crucial to the final standings in Groups B and C.
