Western Springs looking to boost female coaching staff

Western Springs plan to strengthen their girls and women’s development programme with the appointment of a Female Lead Coach.

The club, whose first team played in last season’s Women’s National League, invite applications by January 30, 2023.

The position is described as:

“The Female Lead Coach will work closely with the Head of Women’s Football and leadership team to support the growth of the football systems at Western Springs.

“The Female Lead Coach will be responsible for:

  • Head Coach Women’s Development and National Youth League.
  • Assistant Coach to Women’s Premier Team.
  • Head Coach Girls Academy (Girls TDP U-14 or U-16).
  • Skill Centre Trainings.
  • Attend and support admin and technical meetings.
  • Support the growth of the coaching curriculum and game model.

“Additional tasks:

  • Oversee individual development plans of high-potential talent.
  • Video analysis.
  • Support holiday programme and team tournaments.

“A successful applicant will be highly motivated, a team player, and a great communicator. It is imperative the applicant holds a full OFC C Licence qualification and the successful applicant will be checked through the NZ Police vetting system.

“You will be required to work non-traditional hours and weekends, however, as in the case with sport, the position may require some flexibility regarding the type of work required and the number of hours worked each week. Weekends and evening work will be required for the role.”
