Northern Region Football will host a free one-day Level 1 refereeing course specially for women on Sunday February 12, 2023.
In its promotion of the course, NRF says:
“The Level 1 course is made up of both theory and practical components and is an introduction to the laws of the game.
“Once completed, you’ll be accredited for three years and can register to NRF Referees — then you can get appointed to NRF competition games and get reimbursed for this.
“There is a great pathway for those of you interested in working your way up to the top (NRFL, National League etc.)
“Alternatively, there are plenty of opportunities to develop and learn in the community space, there are games for everyone.”
The minimum age for attendees is 14.

Takapuna clubrooms, Taharoto Park, Taharoto Road, Takapuna, Auckland 0622.
