West Coast Rangers have secured the commitment of key players returning for the club’s 2023 campaign in the Lotto NRFL Women’s Premier League.
These include former Football Fern and Northern Lights defender Nicole Stratford.

Coach Andy Dunn, in his second year in the role, has re-signed:
- Captain Shayden Cathro (24) who will play her seventh season for the club.
- Goalkeeper Emily Couchman who was last season’s Players’ Player of the Year.
- Two players who finished last year playing for Canterbury United Pride in the Women’s National League, Chloe Bellamy and Kendrah Smith.
- Former Football Fern Nicole Stratford (34) will provide experience to the Rangers defence, having played National League and for German club USV Jena in the Frauen-Bundesliga.
- Teenagers Emily Lyon and Luci Hollister who were part of Rangers’ winning team at last year’s national U-19s tournament in Napier, and who have since had spells with Rangers’ partner club in Canada, Fusion FC.
- Kailey Short, whose season was disrupted by injury last year.
- Lorna Selby (24) who returns for a second season at Rangers, after previously captaining Birkenhead United.
- Te Waiariki Read, a member of the title-winning U-19 side, returns for a second season.
- Jess Smith, co-captain of the U-19 side and who played Youth National League and futsal last season, as well as playing for the Aotearoa Maori Football team.
- Shania McIntosh returns for another season.

- Forward Cara Lonergan who partners Lyon in the Rangers attack.
- Defender Marrisa Porteous who is one of the team’s on-field leaders.
