Long-serving East Coast Bays forward makes switch to Northern Rovers

posted in: News

Long-time East Coast Bays attacker Jason McKeown has signed for Lotto NRFL Championship rivals Northern Rovers.

The experienced McKeown (33) has played for Bays since he was at school and was a member of the club’s Chatham Cup-winning side in 2008.

But he’s been unveiled as a Rovers player for the 2023 season with the club announcing:

“Macca brings great experience and quality to the senior team.”

McKeown’s last game for Bays was the 1-1 draw at Northern Rovers to close last season.

He’s the second high-profile departure from Bay City Park with the club’s leading goalscorer, Keegan Kelly, moving across the harbour to join Northern League club Western Springs.

Kelly (17) scored 16 goals in all competitions for Bays last year.
