Wellington Olympic winger Jesse Randall appears set to join second-tier USL Championship club Charleston Battery in South Carolina.

Randall (20), who has been named in the New Zealand U-23 squad to play China in late March, has been seeking a professional contract in the United Kingdom and United States, since leaving Wellington at the end of the men’s National League season.

When naming him in the national squad, NZ Football listed his club as Charleston Battery, indicating a deal is in the pipeline.

The Battery have not yet included Randall in their playing roster for the USL Championship season due to start over the weekend of March 11-12.

If Randall joins, he will follow All White Deklan Wynne there.

Wynne (27) signed a multi-season contract with Battery in early 2023, moving there from league rivals Detroit City.
