Taradale appoint full-time A-Licence coach to lead development programme

Hawke’s Bay club Taradale have appointed a full-time Football Development Manager, responsible for overseeing the club’s coaching programme.

He’s Jamie Dunning, an OFC/NZF A Licence coach, who returns to Napier after coaching in Australia where he had spells with Adelaide City (women) and Magpies Crusaders in Mackay, Queensland (men).

He says the move to Australia let him experience different cultures, providing an opportunity to grow his knowledge and become a better coach.

Dunning will have a particular focus on Taradale’s juniors but will also be head coach of the men’s Federation League team.

Club president Mike Baldwin said the appointment was a new direction for Taradale “and one that we hope will see the game grow in our community, and strengthen an already-great family club.”

He said Dunning’s appointment was key to the club’s five-year plan.

Dunning told the club’s website: “It’s an honour to be able to return to Napier and be involved with such a great family club.”
