UPDATED RESULTS: The winners and goalscorers from Saturday’s top matches

Here are the results and scorers from Saturday’s football in the Northern, Central and Southern Leagues, the Lotto NRFL competitions and top leagues in the NRF and WaiBOP regions:

Northern League

Eastern Suburbs grabbed a stoppage-time winner by Kelvin Kalua against Melville United who lost captain Aaron Scott to a second yellow card in the 89th minute.

Bay Olympic also scored a stoppage time winner, when Ryusei Ishibashi got their crucial goal to beat Manukau United 3-2.

Auckland City cruised to a 4-0 win against Western Springs to take up their familiar position at the top of the table.

Central League

Defending champions Wellington Olympic beat arch-rivals Miramar Rangers 3-1 in a game that featured three goals from the penalty spot.

Olympic took the lead in the 11th minute through Joe Hopper, making his debut after a move from North Wellington.

They doubled the margin in first-half stoppage time when captain Ben Mata scored from the penalty spot, when Rangers’ goalkeeper Jack de Groot brought down Jack-Henry Sinclair.

In the 82nd minute, Rangers pulled a goal back when captain Sam Mason Smith scored from the spot.

As the game entered stoppage time, Mata scored his second from the spot to make sure of the points.

Southern League

New signing Aaron O’Driscoll had an eventful debut for Christchurch United, scoring a goal in his side’s 3-0 win against Green Island and then copping a red card in stoppage time.

The Irish import defender scored midway through the first half, was booked in the 82nd minute for denying a goalscoring opportunity and was then shown a second yellow four minutes into added time for showing dissent.

O’Driscoll (23) has been on the books of Manchester City, Southampton, Mansfield Town and League of Ireland club Shelbourne.
