Three All Whites find goalscoring touch with goals for their clubs

Members of the All Whites were among the goalscorers in Ireland, England and the Netherlands at the weekend.

Max Mata, Matthew Garbett and Ben Waine all scored for their clubs.

Striker Max Mata scored his sixth goal of the season for Sligo Rovers to be the season’s leading goalscorer in the League of Ireland.

His goal got Rovers off to a winning start against Dundalk, who they beat 2-1.

In the Netherlands, Matthew Garbett was man of the match for NAC Breda in their 2-0 win against FC Den Bosch.


He provided an assist and scored the second goal, prompting the chanting of his name by a crowd of 18,000.

Garbett set up the first goal for Elías Már Ómarsson in the 62nd minute and then sealed the result three minutes later when he scored from close.

Garbett is on loan from Italian club Torino.

After the match, he was interviewed by BN DeStem for six minutes about his time with NAC Breda and his approach to the game.

In England, striker Ben Waine scored in Plymouth Argyle’s 3-1 win at Morecambe to take the club to the top of League One, and increase their chances of automatic promotion to the English Championship.
