New Zealand are through to the Round of 16 at the FIFA U-20 Men’s World Cup in Argentina after favourable results in today’s group games.

They qualify as one of the four best-performing third-placed teams in the six groups.

This means they will play either the United States on Wednesday (5.30am NZT) or Colombia on Thursday (5.30am NZT).

Their opponents will depend on final rankings in groups E and F which have games remaining.

New Zealand’s point against Uzbekistan was enough to ensure they finished with four competition points in Group A.

In Group B, Slovakia came third with three points, while Japan’s third place in Group C was with three points.
