A new website will help players by providing advice and resources needed to best prepare, perform, and recover whilst managing injury and load effectively.

The Performance and Prevention Programme is a dedicated football education and resource hub that helps answer common questions such as:

  • Need advice on improving your speed, strength and stamina?
  • Want to know how to best equip your players for their training and games?
  • Do you want to help your tamariki and rangatahi’s development and love for the game?
  • Do you want to know how to best support female athletes?

With the launch of the New Zealand Football Performance and Prevention website, you now have a dedicated football-specific education and resource hub designed to help you get the most out of yourself and your players.

With information tailored to the specific needs of coaches, players, parents and officials, including specific considerations for the needs of female athletes, our football whānau now has the tools at its disposal to best prepare, perform and recover week in, week out, while managing injuries and loading effectively.

“The main purpose of the Performance and Prevention Programme is to embed interventions into football and futsal coaching culture and operations, and reduce the incidence and severity of injuries sustained by New Zealand Football-registered players,” says Performance and Prevention manager Dave Rayner.

“If you want to enhance the performance of your players, reduce the risk of injury, come and check out the New Zealand Football Performance and Prevention website, where we can help you be your best for longer,” Rayner says.

The Performance and Prevention Programme is a partnership between New Zealand Football and ACC.
