New Zealand’s Manaia Elliott says her team’s visit to a local primary school in Fiji has been “a rewarding experience” as part of their participation at the OFC U-19 Women’s Championship.
“I think for the whole team, it’s such a nice way to give back to the community and promote football in Fiji,” she told OFC Media.
“I think this is everyone’s goal when you grow up as a kid and learn how to play football.
“It all starts from these moments, so we’re really grateful to be able to do this.”
Elliott and her teammates were on a break during their preparation for Sunday’s quarter-final in Suva, when they play the Solomon Islands (3pm NZT).
