Quarter-final match-ups decided for OFC U-19 Women’s Championship

New Zealand will meet the Solomon Islands in Sunday’s quarter-finals at the OFC U-19 Women’s Championship.

The Solomon Islands finished runners-up in Group C at the tournament in Fiji after losing their second pool game 1-0 to the Cook Islands.

The game took more than two hours to complete when a power cut at the Suva stadium forced play to be suspended in a marathon first half lasting more than 75 minutes.

In Wednesday’s earlier game, Fiji beat Papua New Guinea 2-0 to complete Group A.

If New Zealand beat Solomon Islands on Sunday, they’ll play the winner of New Caledonia/Fiji in a semi-final.

The winner of the tournament gains automatic entry to the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.
