VIDEO: Ferns’ focus switches from Norway to Philippines as second game nears

Football Ferns head coach Jitka Klimková says the New Zealand camp are now focussed on winning their second game at the FIFA Women’s World Cup, when they meet the Philippines in Wellington on Tuesday.

“We’ll focus on things we’ve done well (against Norway), things we want to keep improving. Those are our processes that are happening after every game,” she told a media conference the day after her side’s 1-0 upset win against Norway.

“We’ve studied the Philippines; we’ve played them; we know them very well. We’ll be watching tonight’s game against Switzerland, then we have three days to get ready for it.

“The preparation will be very similar to how we did it against Norway. Those nine weeks we spent together, we were preparing for all three games with this team.”

Klimková and the Ferns’ goalscorer Hannah Wilkinson met the media for 18 minutes.
