Former Football Fern Anna Green says the New Zealand team that beat Norway 1-0 in their opening game of the FIFA Women’s World Cup played completely differently to how they have performed over the past six months.
Playing at Auckland’s Eden Park, before an all-time record crowd for a New Zealand football match, the Ferns outshone the higher-fancied Norway.
Green, who retired ahead of the tournament after more than 70 games for her country, told 1News she was still on cloud nine after watching the win.
