All Whites striker Ben Waine has scored twice to send English Championship newcomers Plymouth Argyle into the next round of the Football League Cup.
Waine (22) scored in the 26th and 38th minutes to lead Argyle to a 2-0 win against League One’s Leyton Orient.
His first came when the former Wellington Phoenix forward latched onto a back-pass from Orient defender Omar Beckles and steered it past advancing goalkeeper Sam Howes.
His second came when Waine made a well-timed run in front of the Orient goal to meet Freddie Issaka’s cross.

Waine’s performance earned him the club’s Player of the Match award.
Waine was named in the starting line-up as manager Steven Schumacher rotated the squad that started its Championship campaign with a 3-1 win against Huddersfield Town at the weekend.
Waine came off the bench late in that match.
Manager Schumacher praised Waine after the match, watched by 10,324 at Argyle’s Home Park.
“I’m really pleased for Ben. That’s his first goals at Home Park. He has been here since January; he works so hard every day in training.
“He’s desperate to learn and improve, and get better so he’s going to get chances.
“I think his all-round performance was good tonight, and for him to score two goals here at Home Park in front of the Devonport End that will give him loads of confidence.”
