Bunge, who was part of New Zealand’s squad at the FIFA Women’s World Cup, told the club’s website:

“After talking to the coaching staff and Daisy Cleverley, who I know very well and have just been to the WC with, I quickly became convinced that HB Køge was the right change for me.

“I will do everything I can to help my teammates and the club — and, hopefully, together, we can build on the success that the team has already achieved.”

HB Køge’s head coach Kim Daugaard said:

“Claudia comes to the club with routine, quality and some valuable experience.

“She is sure of the ball and careful in her defensive play, and her approach gives us even more strings to play in our defence. We are very pleased that we have succeeded in entering into this agreement.”

Bunge, who has 24 caps for New Zealand, won A-League titles with Melbourne Victory in 2021 and 2022.

She is expected to make her debut for HB Køge next week in their league match against FC Nordsjælland.

Fellow Fern Daisy Cleverley (26) has been with HB Køge since last year, playing in midfield.
