VIDEO: Ferns defender Katie Bowen lands contract with Italian giants Inter Milan

New Zealand international Katie Bowen has signed a one-year contract with Italian Serie A club Inter Milan, after her impressive performances at the FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Auckland-born Bowen (29) is under contract till June 30, 2024, with an option to extend the agreement for another year.

She played last season for women’s A-League club Melbourne City, after having previous played in the United States for North Carolina Courage, Kansas City Current, FC Kansas City and Utah Royals.

Last season, Inter finished third in the Serie A regular season, behind Roma and Juventus, and then came fifth in the subsequent championship series.

The side kick off their new season on September 19 against Sampdoria.

Bowen, who played her youth football for Glenfield Rovers, has made 103 appearances for the Ferns.
