Auckland club Birkenhead United have published a match programme specially for their NRF Women’s Conference match against Metro to be played on Sunday September 10, 2023.
In his welcome notes, club president David Williams acknowledges it’s the first time the club has published a women’s-only match day programme.
Williams writes: “The impact of the FIFA Women’s World Cup continues to create ripples of excitement, engagement and legacy as this programme itself bears testimony to.”
In the publication, the club’s Women’s and Girls’ Committee provides a list of highlights of progress made by Birkenhead United.
“Planning for the 2024 season is already underway with a focus on leveraging the huge interest in football that has been created by the World Cup. We are always looking to create more footballing opportunities for women and girls across all age groups,” the committee reports.
The match day programme covers the top-of-the-table Women’s Conference clash between leaders Birkenhead United and Metro.
The winners will take pole position in the quest to win promotion to the Lotto NRFL Women’s Championship via end-of-season play-offs.
