Manager says striker Ben Waine making progress but needs ‘a bit of time’

All Whites striker Ben Waine is on track to become a good player but it’ll take “a bit of time”, says his Plymouth Argyle manager.

Steven Schumacher says of Waine:

“He’s getting better. He has been with us eight months now. Every day he works so hard to improve.

“We do all his extras with him. His all-round game is improving. His awareness and tactical knowledge is getting better so he’s going to be a good player.

“As I say with everybody, it takes a bit of time.”

Waine (22) joined English Championship club Plymouth Argyle who paid an undisclosed transfer fee to Wellington Phoenix for the player.

Since then, he has made four starts and 12 substitute appearances for a return of five goals, three of which have been in this season’s English Football League Cup (Carabao Cup).
