Wellington Phoenix defender Mackenzie Barry says she and her teammates are “super excited” at the prospect of playing in Auckland next month.
The Phoenix women will play Perth Glory at Go Media Stadium Mount Smart on Saturday November 25, the second game in a men/women A-League double header.
“I think it’s great to be able to showcase what talent we have in person to other areas,” Barry said after the announcement of the double header.
“I think we can engage with the fans, and it’ll be amazing to play in Auckland. I’ve got a lot of friends there, and I know a lot of other girls grew up there, so seeing their family and not having to travel is amazing.”
