RESULT: Western Springs topple Women’s National League leaders

Defending champions Eastern Suburbs have lost their unbeaten record in this season’s Women’s National League after losing to local rivals Western Springs.

Springs beat the Lilywhites 4-0 under floodlights at Seddon Fields.

The result means Auckland United has become the league leader, at least overnight, on goal difference.

The match was the second to be played in Round 5, with Auckland United beating Ellerslie 1-0 on Thursday night.
