Oratia United recognise ‘100 Club’ players at 50th anniversary celebrations

Oratia United have brought together a select group of past and present players, all of whom have the rare distinction of making more than 100 first-team appearances for the club.

The plaque produced by MillieMollieMiles, specially for the 100 Club.

As part of the club’s 50th anniversary celebrations, Oratia brought as many as possible together to personally receive plaques marking their achievements.

The 100 Club

Those who have made more than 100 appearances for Oratia United:

Andrew Dixon, Andy Kapteyn, Billy Guy, Brad Harden, Bruce Plunkett, Cameron Miller, Dave Allanson, David Parkinson, Emiel Burrow, Jimmy Colligan, Kevin Langsdale, Mark Sheehan, Mark Withers, Michael Brown, Michael Graham, Michael Kealey, Peter Magee, Rob Littlejohn, Sean Lynch, Shaun O’Mara, Stuart Mair, Wade Jennings, Warrick Hickman.

Shortly before the anniversary event, 100 Club member Jimmy Colligan died, aged 78.

Oratia members raised a glass to Colligan who made 152 appearances for the club in the late 1970s/early 1980s, scoring 18 goals.

Acknowledgement

Oratia United thanked club vice chair Ian Quintal and Barry Smith, QSM, NZ Football’s honorary historian, for helping compile and maintain the club’s list of appearances.
