Johnston (56), who recently relocated to Rotorua, is an OFC C-Licence coach with experience in his native South Africa, Kirbati, Vanuatu and New Zealand. He played semi-professionally, as a goalkeeper, in South Africa, and is a level 3 referee, and a New Zealand referee assessor.

Trembath (37) has been the Director of Football at Rotorua Boys’ High School for a number of years and more recently, has become president of the Westbrook Junior Football Club.

Chadwick (35) has been at Ngongotahā since 2020 and coached the first team for two seasons prior to the formation of the Southern Conference in 2023. Once a youth player at English club Oldham Athletic, he played semi-professionally in Adelaide before moving to Rotorua.

In their first season in the Conference, Ngongotahā Lakes FC finished seventh in the eight-team competition, avoiding the bottom spot on goal difference.
