Ambitious Franklin United add strength and conditioning coach to staff

Franklin United have signed experienced strength and conditioning coach Anibal Paris as part of their bid to win back-to-back promotions next year.

The Lotto NRFL Northern Conference title-holders have recruited Paris as part of their refresh of their first team coaching staff.

He joins co-coaches Paul Day and Mike Day, who have taken over first-team coaching duties from Mark Holt who will co-coach United’s U-23 team with club president Shane Thomas.

Explaining the signing of Paris, Paul Day said:

“As a close friend of ours, we are grateful he has chosen to be a part of the vision we have at Franklin united as we grow the club and push for back-to-back promotions.”

The club is targeting promotion next season from the Lotto NRFL Men’s Championship to the Northern League.

“He (Paris) is a masterclass in developing players to reach that next level. Anibal has been a key figure in helping Manurewa and Ngaruawahia achieve success.

“He also has personally worked with many of the current National League players with his one-on-one sessions, and his results speak for themselves.”

Paris said: “I know the coaches, Mike and Paul, so I already know that we are going to work together well to push for another promotion. This will be our main objective.

“I’m excited to start the work with the players. I believe 2024 will be a great year for the club, and for supporters of Franklin United.”
