WaiBOP’s CK Kawana-Waugh to help officiate Manchester City semi-final

New Zealand referee Campbell-Kirk Kawana-Waugh will make his second appearance at the FIFA Club World Cup when he is the fourth official for Wednesday’s semi-final between Manchester City and Urawa Red Diamonds.

Kawana-Waugh, who is the referee manager for WaiBOP Football, is part of the officials team at the tournament in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

He was fourth official for the second-round tie between Egypt’s Al Ahly and Saudi champions Al-Ittihad.

Kawana-Waugh was one of 25 referees at the FIFA U-20 Men’s World Cup in Argentina in May.

He will help three Saudi Arabia referees officiate Wednesday’s semi-final before an expected crowd of more than 50,000 at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah.

The international flavour of the tournament is demonstrated by the diversity of nations involved in the appointments made for the match:
