Dunedin City Royals have re-appointed head coach Richard Murray for next season’s Southern League campaign.
Murray (48) has been at the helm for Royals since the club was formed through the 2021 merger of four Otago clubs, including Caversham where he was the first team coach.
Raised in Dunedin, Murray attended King’s High School and played junior football for Dunedin City before joining Roslyn Waikari when he left school.
Murray joined Caversham in 1999, and then move to Auckland for five years, playing for University-Mt Wellington and East Coast Bays.
Returning to Otago, he played for Caversham until taking up coaching at the club, and coaching junior representative teams..
Rovers finished fourth in the 2023 Southern League, 13 points short of qualifying for the Men’s National League.
