Springs’ Caleb Ward named head of female football for new partnership

Caleb Ward has been appointed head of female football for the Bay of Plenty’s FC Tauranga Moana.

Ward (29) was a member of the women’s coaching staff at Kate Sheppard Cup-winning Western Springs in 2023, in their Lotto NRFL Women’s Premier League and National League campaigns.

He joins FC Tauranga Moana, an entity formed in a ground-breaking partnership between three Bay of Plenty clubs.

Their aim is to become the region’s first NZ Football-accredited Female Talent Development Programme, and to have a senior team gain promotion to the Lotto NRFL Women’s Premier League.

Ward said: “This is a very exciting for the region to have a dedicated female pathway, and all parties involved in this decision should be commended.

“I am incredibly excited and honoured to be part of this new project and look forward to working with all players and staff to make FCTM the best female development pathway in the country.”
