Central League club Western Suburbs have signed midfielder Charlie Meredith from relegated Whanganui Athletic.
Meredith (18) was Athletic’s Youth Player of the Year in 2022 and 2023, having made 36 first team appearances for the club.
Announcing his departure on social media, Whanganui Athletic wished Meredith well, saying: “Your impact has been immeasurable and Whanganui Athletic is immensely proud of the player you have become, and we are excited to see where your footballing journey takes you.”
Meredith has joined Western Suburbs on a scholarship and will be based at the Olé Academy, a partner of the club.
