Auckland club Waitemata plan to field two senior women’s teams in 2024.
“As part of our dedication to promoting inclusivity and advancing women’s football, we are committed to fielding not just one, but two women’s teams in the year 2024,” the club says.
“This decision reflects our support for women’s football and our determination to create more opportunities for female athletes in our community.
“We firmly believe in the strength, skill, and passion of our female players and are immensely proud to provide a platform for their growth and success.
“The launch of these two women’s teams marks our commitment to equality and fostering a thriving environment for all football enthusiasts.”
How to get involved
Women’s training starts on February 14, 2024, from 6.30pm-8pm.
The training venue will be confirmed closer to the date.
