Six teams representing secondary schools and NZ Māori are playing a triangular tournament over two days at Auckland’s Seddon Fields.
The tournament brings together U-16 and U-19 male teams representing NZ Secondary Schools — NZSS North and NZSS South (for players south of the Waikato) — and NZ Māori.
Based on performances at the tournament, NZ Secondary Schools will select U-16 and U-19 squads to represent New Zealand on a four-game tour to Australia in April.
The tour will include a match against the Australian Secondary Schools representative team.
Broadcaster Whakaata Māori live streamed four games played on Thursday, and two games from Friday’s schedule are expected to be available through the Veo app.
