WATCH: All Whites winger Callum McCowatt scores cup-winning goal

New Zealand international winger Callum McCowatt has scored the winning goal for his Danish club Silkeborg to help them win an international tournament in Portugal.

McCowatt (24) latched onto a well-directed crossfield pass to smash the winner into the net for a 2-1 win against Swedish side IF Elfsborg.

The teams were playing at the 11-team Atlantic Cup, hosted at the Estâdio Algarve, Portugal, a pre/mid-season tournament for sides from Scandinavia, Northern, and Central Europe.

Silkeborg won their three games at the tournament.

Callum McCowatt’s career

McCowatt joined Silkeborg in 2023.

He played his youth football for Greenhithe, Forrest Hill Milford United, East Coast Bays and Team Wellington.

His senior career started with Western Suburbs before spells with Auckland City, Eastern Suburbs and the Wellington Phoenix.

An age group international with New Zealand’s U-17, U-20 and U-23 sides, McCowatt made his full international debut in 2019.
