Five-a-side football is one of 12 sports to be included at Auckland’s Rainbow Games to be held from April 4-8, 2024.
The Rainbow Games is a multi-sport event that brings together LGBTQI+ communities and allies from the region to celebrate sportsmanship, acceptance and equality.
Registrations for team/individual entries close on Monday March 4, 2024.
For football, the Games will take place at The Trusts Arena, Henderson, on April 6-7, and will comprise of:
- Open team (5-a-side) — competitive or social grade.
- Female-identifying team (5-a-side) — competitive or social grade.
Open refers to all genders and identities. Female-identifying refers to cisgender women, transgender women and non-binary AFAB.
Players must 18+ by Friday April 5, 2024, to participate.
Teams can have up to seven players (five on the court, two subs).
Cost of entry
Cost per player is $150, including GST, and pays for a package of benefits including:
- Registration to one 5-a-side discipline.
- Player accreditation.
- Goodie bag.
- Ticket to the Rainbow Games opening ceremony on Thursday April 4, 2024.
- Ticking to the Rainbow Games closing function on Monday April 8, 2024.
- Transport discounts.
- Access to the arts, culture and social hub.
- Exclusive retail and hospitality discounts.
- Contribution to the Rangatahi legacy intiaitve.
