Georgina Gatenby to take up role as federation’s women’s football manager

Capital Football have appointed Georgina Gatenby as their new women’s football manager.

She joins the federation from NZ Football where he was competitions manager (women and futsal) for two years.

Announcing her appointment, Capital Football said: “Georgina has been heavily involved in the recent Women’s World Cup here in New Zealand and the Women’s U-20 World Cup in Costa Rica as a match co-coordinator for FIFA.

“Over her period at New Zealand Football, which began in late 2021, Geogina has played an integral part in the delivery of 11 senior international matches here in New Zealand, as well as delivering the expanded and revised women’s National League.

“With the momentum that women’s football has, especially following the World Cup, Capital Football are pleased to have someone of Georgina’s calibre and experience leading the Women’s space within our region.”

Gatenby starts her role with Capital Football on March 11, 2024.
