English Premier League club Chelsea have rolled out the red carpet for young New Zealand fan Monty Leach, giving him ‘the best day ever’.

Monty (14), who has a brain tumour, travelled from New Zealand with his mother Jiselle, father Brent and brother Charlie to enjoy a day with his favourite EPL club,

After sitting in on a Q&A session in the club’s media room, the Auckland teenager met one of his idols, England international and Chelsea legend John Terry.

He then watched the Chelsea squad train ahead of their upcoming Carabao Cup final against Liverpool.

Chelsea players Marcus Bettinelli, Robert Sanchez and Djordje Petrovic surprised the Leach family, giving them tickets for the cup final at Wembley Stadium.

“The best day ever!” Monty told the Chelsea Foundation, who arranged his visit.

“It’s been amazing to meet all of the players, and I can’t believe I have tickets for Sunday; I can’t wait!’
