Results overturned after futsal team ruled to have fielded ineligible player

The results of two matches have been overturned in the men’s Ford Futsal Superleague because Palmerston North Marist (Central Football) fielded an ineligible player.

The games, against Capital Futsal, were played on Sunday February 18, 2024, at Palmerston North’s Central Energy Trust Arena.

NZ Football’s statement

Here’s NZ Football’s explanation on their website:

“It has been confirmed that Palmerston North Marist (Central Football) fielded an ineligible player in their two men’s Ford Futsal SuperLeague games at the Central Home Series.

“As a result, New Zealand Football have ruled, line with the 2024 SuperLeague Regulations and the NZF Disciplinary Code, their two results will be overturned and both recorded as a 5-0 win for Capital Futsal.”
