All Whites wingback Liberato Cacace has helped his Empoli club to an important win in their battle to avoid relegation from Italy’s Serie A.
Cacace played 88 minutes before being subbed in Empoli’s 3-2 win against struggling Sassuolo.
The match was a six-pointer in terms of its implications, with the win lifting Empoli to 13th place on the 20-team ladder, five points clear of the relegation zone.
However, defeat left Sassuolo languishing in 17th place.
